At OKPhotos.com, we are beginning to shoot most of our wedding videos entirely with HD (high-definition) cameras. Even though they are not recorded nor produced in the HD mode (i.e. produced in standard definition WIDESCREEN mode instead), the pictures are nonetheless much sharper and the colors much richer than those shot by non-HD cameras.
In the old days, this improvement would not matter because the old full screen CRT (cathode ray tube) TV can display up to only 400 or 500 veritcal lines of resolution, hence you can't tell the difference regardless. But today, with more and more people owning widescreen HDTV, which can display around 700 lines of resolution even in the non-HD mode, the visual improvement is significant. The pictures are sharper, and you can pick up smaller details.
However, since super-lowlight HD cameras are beyond that of the typical wedding budget, both the ceremony and reception would have to be daytime outdoor or properly-lit indoor. If HD-ish quality matters to you and you already own a HDTV, please check with us if you wedding qualifies for an all-HD-cameras shoot.
There is no extra charge for this service.
